How to make Moong Dal Payasam… “Moong dal” payasam is a very tasty South Indian dish and it’s good for our health. Moong dal payasam is delicious and iron rich dessert and it is very famous in Kerala. In Kerala, they used to prepare different types of prathaman using rice, ada, moong dal. Today, I’m going to prepare the famous prathaman with healthy moong dal. We can make this sweet recipe for our family get together, parties and can be serve with evening snacks. Let us see, how to make Moong dal payasam.
Basic Information :
Time consume : 30 minutes
Serve : 4 persons
- Moong dal(pasi paruppu) – 1/2 cup
- Jaggery – 1 cup or as per your taste.
- Coconut milk – 2 small cups(1st and 2nd milk)
- Ghee – 1/2 tsp
- Cashew – 1/2 cup
- Cardamon powder – 1/2 tsp
- Coconut pieces – 1/4 cup
Heat ghee in heavy based kadai, fry Moongdal for 3 seconds.Add 2nd milk of coconut in fried dal and allow to boil.After Moong dal is cooked, add jaggery and stir.Add 1st coconut milk. If we want we can add ghee fried cashews and coconut pieces.Add cardamon powder. And thats it!… delicious moong dal payasam is ready to serve.WOW !!!!!
