Traditional, mouth watering, mouth immersing sweet is Mysore Pak. This yummy sweet recipe is prepared first in Mysore palace. That’s why, this sweet is called Mysore Pak. For preparing this mouthwatering recipe, we need only three ingredients, Basan (Kadalai maavu), Sugar and ghee. I’m using more ghee to get the sweeter softer and rich taste. In my childhood days, my mother used to prepare this yummy sweet for Diwali. I and my sister likes very much. First time, I tried it in my home, as Ugadi special and it came very well. My daughter and my hubby liked very much. My daughter was very happy and she hugged and kissed me in preparing this sweet. I’m very much excited to share this traditional sweet. Let us prepare the yummy sweet Mysore Pak.
Dry fry the besan (Chickpea flour)(Kadali maavu) in low flame for 2_3 minutes.Take a bowl, mix fried basan and ghee in thick liquid form without any lumps.In a kadai, take 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water and allow it to boil to make syrup.The syrup consistency is very much important. It should be one string consistency.Add the basan ghee mix into the sugar syrup and start to stir slowly.Stir it continuously till the basan fully cooked and it turns thick in consistency.We can add more ghee little by little and stir well.It should be separate form the kadai. This is the correct consistency to takeout from the flame.Grease ghee in a plate and transfer the cooked basan mix or mysore pak into the greased plate.After it completely cool down in room temperature cut into medium pieces.
